Click here to download a free 1864 sermon by Charles Spurgeon to see how much God cares for “sinners”. WE should care too, and we should serve in some capacity.
Pray
Prayer partners are our greatest resource and our greatest need. We can never have enough! We need true, heartfelt prayer for our volunteers and the homeless people they serve. Pray that our volunteers will use their talents for God’s glory. Pray for local businesses to give people a second chance. Pray for their broken relationships to be mended. Pray for their redemption. Pray for God to give our Bible teachers and mentors the words to reach the hearts of our homeless people.
Serve
God gives everyone unique talents. Some people evangelize, some pray, some mentor, some have construction or organizational skills. Some people are great with technology or fundraising, some are great donors. Some people knit, sew, sort donated clothing, or give away clothing during our homeless events. Some cook food, some serve food. Some provide transportation to medical appointments or job interviews. Together we can encourage, serve, and keep people from being homeless on our streets. Our volunteers serve where God leads them. Consider what you can do.
